Trading E-Mini S&P
About Trading E-Mini S&P Index Futures
The E-Mini S&P index was founded in 1998 by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and trades on the Globex platform, the CME's electronic trading system. The value of an E-Mini S&P contract is 20% of a full-sized S&P 500 contract.
With a daily average of 1 million contracts traded and a daily volume of over $140 billion, the E-Mini S&P is now the world's most popular equity index futures contract. Because it has a smaller contract size and is electronically traded, the E-Mini S&P appeals to many different types of traders and is popular amongst hedge funds.
